Adventures at The DMV

I'm not sure if all DMV's are bad, but anyone who has ever visited the DMV's office in Hamilton County, TN would probably agree when I say they are the absolute WORSE. I checked out the state website and found out exactly what I needed to bring to change my AL DL to a TN DL. Well after waiting for over an hour, I was told I needed my marriage license because the name on my birth certificate was different than my license. Well, duh....I'm married. So I go home, grab my papers, and go back. 2.5 hours later, I have my TN driver's license. All the while, Maddy was getting restless, and bored. It's torture having someone wait 4 hours for a card stating that I am legally able to drive. I believe it would work faster if all 20 teller windows were open instead of the 3 that were opened. We were only home 15 minutes before heading out again. I promised them they could go swimming at the pool since they had to endure those 4hrs at the DMV's office. We were there for only a little over 30 minutes before the thunder and lightning started. Naturally they were upset. Maddy was very upset. Thankfully at that moment, Mamaw came by for a visit. It was good getting to see her, and both girls were very happy to sit with her and catch her up on their latest doings. We all went out for dinner, and afterwards Adam and I took the girls on a walk. A peaceful evening to end a very hectic day. Thank you, Mamaw for visiting with us and saving the day!
